Countdown from Ten is an instrumental math rock trio from South Philadelphia. Consisting of Daphne Getty (drums), Ariel Golden (bass), and Cameron Davidson (guitar), the three have been considered the upper crust of the scene since 2018.
The group is known and renowned for their explosive live shows and unique sound. Countdown has broken bread on the national stage with acts such as Hail the Sun, Daikaiju, The Ben Levin Group, Standards, Floral, Satyr and Dysrhythmia.
The band’s music, captured on two available EPs, Speakeasy Petting Zoo (2018) and On the Instability of Air (2020), is characterized by odd but danceable rhythms, bizarre yet catchy hooks, highly effected guitar tones, and savory fills and rolls served up by Daphne. They have been compared to Tera Melos, And So I Watch You From Afar, and Town Portal.
Since the release of Countdown from Ten’s second EP, fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from the trio. They will not need to wait much longer, as the group has been dropping crumbs hinting at new songs and promise a full length record is well underway.
