THICK ~ Skating Polly ~ Teenage Bigfoot

**All events 21+ — valid ID required for entry**Doors: 7:00 pmShow: 7:30 pmTHICKOver the years, THICK have earned recognition as an unstoppable live act, with their show typically spawning a mosh pit described by Stereogum as “more like an aggressive hug.” As they dreamed up the tightly crafted yet uncontainable sound of 5 Years Behind, the band kept the live experience at the forefront of their minds. “When we write, we write toward the emotions of the audience,” says Sisti. “I know that lyrics play a huge role in connection, but I’m personally more focused on visualizing how people might physically respond to a song—what it would make them feel in the moment and how it might make them move or dance.” Now gearing up for a national tour in support of 5 Years Behind, THICK aspire to strengthen the palpable sense of inclusivity that’s defined their shows from the start. “We want people to feel safe in the mosh pit, and hopefully connect with each other,” says Page. “We’ve made so many friends at the shows we’ve played, and we’d love it if people could build some kind of community from coming to see us.” And in the making of their first full-length effort, THICK aimed to instill an undeniable feeling of solidarity into each of the album’s tracks. “In a way the theme of all our songs is: ‘We’ll get through this. We’re not going to be kept down,” says Black. “I hope when people listen to the album, it gives them that same feeling. And I hope they feel like, if they ever needed it, we’d absolutely have their back.”https://thick.band/SKATING POLLYFusing elements of alt-rock with classic D.I.Y. punk and indie pop, savvy Oklahoma sibling band Skating Polly found international exposure through rigorous touring, earning both critical acclaim and support of the indie rock scene. Kelli Mayo and Peyton Bighorse formed the group at a young age, with their brother Kurtis Mayo joining in 2017. The band is noted for their alternating instruments among each member, poetic lyrics, intense live shows, melodic arrangements, and an eclectic array of songs. They have released five albums and make over thirty music videos. https://www.skatingpolly.com/TEENAGE BIGFOOTLike most teenagers, this band has taken on quite a few shapes. Since 2017, Teenage Bigfoot has been Tiffany, Joe, and Jake, but the band looked much different in 2014 when they played their first show at Philadelphia’s original First Time’s the Charm festival. As the only active band from the fest, Teenage Bigfoot continues to strike like lightning with their artful blend of 90s skate punk, melodic hardcore, and pop punk gushy stuff. The band has shared the stage with Jeff Rosenstock, Masked Intruder, The Dirty Nil, Mischief Brew, The Dollyrots, among others, and in 2019, Teenage Bigfoot accompanied long-standing Japanese pop punk outfit, NAVEL, on their first ever U.S. Tour. Teenage Bigfoot released “Weapons Against Darkness” November 2021 via Bloated Kat Records.www.teenagebigfoot.comhttp://teenagebigfoot.bandcamp.comFacebook & Instagram: @teenagebigfoot

Vision Video ~ NITE ~ Activity

**All shows 21+ — valid ID required**Doors: 6:30 PMShow: 7:30 PMVISION VIDEOAs an active paramedic, firefighter, and veteran of the war in Afghanistan, Vision Video lead Dusty Gannon has seen more horror in real life than in the classic movies he draws inspiration from. When not saving lives on the front-line, Dusty dons torn fishnets, combat boots and makeup to play post-punk that recalls the genre’s heyday when the lines between goth and pop blurred to create some of the underground’s most beloved acts such as The Cure, The Smiths and Joy Division. But hidden within Vision Video’s catchy hooks and dancy beats is a nostalgic yet desperate message exploring the darker undertones of our existence. At its core, Inked In Red looks inward to understand the effects of war and the global pandemic. Dusty’s experiences in service have imparted an authentic gravitas to the music, revealing a cautionary tale of unhinged mental illness born of trauma. Sonically, this is reflected in every chord and melody through its enticingly gothic yet often upbeat nature. Vision Video’s debut imparts a duality of mania that, simply stated, is real malaise and existential dread that cannot be made facsimile. https://visionvideoband.com/NITENITE is an electronic rock band from Dallas, Texas.https://nite.bandcamp.com/ACTIVITYWe are friends and we’re working on album 2. Meltt ~ Depression, Mom

**All events 21+ — valid ID required for entry**Doors: 7:00 pmShow: 7:30 pmMELTTMeltt is a collection of four multi-instrumentalists sonically painting their own dreamscapes with psychedelic-guitars, swelling-synthesizers, powerful-drums, and ethereal-vocals. Currently falling somewhere in the category of indie/ psych- rock, the band has been praised for their combination of heavy riffs, colourful instrumentation, detail oriented production, and multi-layered song- writing. With an equal love for the blissfully tripped out and the powerfully crunchy corners of music, a Meltt album or show is designed to transport the listener to spaces they have only previously dreamt of. They are currently putting the finishing touches on their second album which they hope to release in Spring of 2022.https://open.spotify.com/artist/2iHrc69sZgyWFBAhLpS3oH?si=RJwbir6nQQOYhNhsAHi9cw&nd=1 DEPRESSION, MOMDepression, Mom is a band from Philadelphia formed in 2020 by singer songwriter Madalean Gauze. Whether it’s playing for their local dive bars or grooving and boozing on the beach with their buds, these four childhood friends love sharing their tunes to anyone that’ll listen. Learning as they go, the band embraces their rawness and infancy in the music industry. Arcy Drive has no plans of slowing down, croozing with high hopes and open road ahead of them.https://linktr.ee/Arcydrive TIOGACultivated in the eternal city of Brotherly Love, TIOGA creates music that sounds like if Jack Antonoff and Brandon Flowers went to a karaoke bar and sang Talking Heads songs until they got kicked out and then mumbled David Bowie songs to themselves on the walk home. The group marries their meaningful lyricism and endearing style of alternative indie with a hearty bass and danceable synth-pop sound. Their homebase now extends beyond the confines of Philadelphia, and as far as the Big Apple.https://tiogatheband.bandcamp.com/BEECH DREAM Indie Soul Folk band from the suburbs of Philadelphia. Cola ~ Knifeplay ~ Nina Ryser ~ THEERICSCHUMAN

*All events are 21+ valid ID required for entry*7 PM Doors8 PM ShowCOLACola is a new project from former Ought members Tim Darcy and Ben Stidworthy formed with US Girls drummer Evan Cartwright. “Blank Curtain” provides an exciting hint of the way the new project picks up some of the threads of the pair’s earlier work and weaves them into engaging new shapes, constructing a driving tangle of guitars around an arresting performance from Darcy. “What started as stripped-down open D songwriting with a CR-78 soon became a full album and new band. We wanted to see how far we could stretch our compositions with just drums, one guitar, one bass, and one voice.Blank Curtain is a quarter note kick drum pushing 240 bpm, a drone-like chord progression, and declarative vocals cutting through the haze. If you could invert the color of the Blank Curtain, you might have something like a Chicago house track that sounds like a band in a room.”KNIFEPLAYKnifeplay is a band that eludes definition, existing somewhere between the nihilistic detachment of shoegaze and the emotional honesty of folk songwriting, they’ve made a slow and careful shift from being the solo bedroom recording project of songwriter Tj Strohmer to a collaborative, production-focused studio-recorded band. But through their ever-expanding genre palette, range of fidelities, and a long list of collaborators runs a unique mood that ties everything together. Informed by his experiences living in Philadelphia and their contrast with his rural southern Maryland upbringing, Strohmer’s sometimes straightforward, sometimes dreamlike lyrics feature scenes of darkness from many different aspects of life. He deals with themes of death, drugs, heartbreak, abuse, and self-destruction, all expressed through an androgynous vocal style, which, combined with the band’s lush, often dense orchestral instrumentation gives a beautiful lightness to the heavy subject matter. Knifeplay has earned a dedicated cult following since their 2017 debut with their home-recorded Eps, acclaimed debut album Pearlty (2019), a lengthy B-Sides Compilation (2020), and an EP Hurt Someone (2021 Born Losers Records). The latter of which was a part of their 2021 studio work with acclaimed Philadelphia engineer/mixer/producer Jeff Zeigler.https://linktr.ee/knifeplay_music NINA RYSER  https://ninaryser.bandcamp.com/album/paths-of-color-2Plus DJ THEERICSCHUMAN
