Initially founded in 2019 as a studio-only solo project by composer, engineer, & bandleader Richie Devon, the project soon recruited frequent session collaborators and friends, eventually growing into a live outfit that includes members of Witching & Sonagi & Capacities. Musically, Lástima blends influences from black metal & emo with elements of romantic era classical & traditional latin music, exploring themes of latino-identity, depression, & existentialism. Over the past four years, based on only the strength of a two-track EP, a handful of singles, & their emotional live performances, Lástima has been included in the lineups of several festivals, toured as far as Canada, & shared the stage with numerous heavy-hitters at home in Philadelphia.
