Since then, they have crisscrossed the globe with their spectacular live shows, storming across the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France and Switzerland. On subsequent full length albums, Humbled By Our Greatness, Death To False Disco Metal, The Solo Albums, The Joy of Sex, Tragedy Goes to the Movies and #1 Christmas Holiday Party Mix, Tragedy spread their glittered wings to take on non-Bee Gees classics from the disco era, soft rock anthems and party jams. Y-Not Radio’s 10th (+2) Anniversary Show: Jasmyn ~ Air Waves
*All events are 21+ valid ID required for entry*7 PM Doors7:30 PM ShowJASMYNJasmyn is the new solo project created by Jasmyn Burke, former singer-songwriter and frontwoman of the critically acclaimed band Weaves. Having received two Polaris Music Prize shortlists, two JUNO nominations for Alternative Album of the Year and two SOCAN Songwriting Prize nominations, Burke has established herself as one of Canada’s most exciting and fresh voices. With this new project, she has decided to use her own name, Jasmyn, to mark the start of exploring her own unique sound as a solo artist. She signed the project to ANTI- Records (sister label to Epitaph Records) and to Royal Mountain Records for Canada.Having left hometown Toronto in search of a slower pace and some room to breathe, Jasmyn found herself slowly picking her guitar back up and writing songs in her living room using Garageband on her phone. Signed to ANTI- but unable to travel, she began sending demos to Los Angeles-based Producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten) who collaborated with her remotely on a body of work she had compiled over months of being in lockdown. In the Spring of 2021, Jasmyn went to LA to record with Congleton, exploring themes of finding patterns in life and how to perhaps change them. These themes are front and center on her first single “Find the Light.” On the general direction of the new project, and the meaning behind the debut song, Jasmyn said, “This song was loosely written during the Fall of 2020. The world was feeling pretty heavy, and I felt myself wanting to write music that created a mood of happiness and space to grow.” She reflects: “It feels like we’re living in this sort of in-between space, where life is altering. I wanted to explore finding comfort and hopefulness through uncomfortable change. Born Aaron Coady in Newton, Iowa, Needles faced anti-gay harassment in his hometown, but with a move to Pittsburgh in 2004, he became a living, breathing, and vogueing example of the It Gets Better project. Loving all things gothic and ghoulish, he launched the Haus of Haunt, a group that glitzed up Pittsburgh’s nightclubs with their punky, campy, and scary revue. In 2011, he became a contestant on the fourth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, winning the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” and blowing up social networking with glamorous folks like Lady Gaga singing his praises. In 2013, he brought an extra dose of fabulous to the world of music by releasing the danceable and dark debut album PG-13.

Then it was off to the Silk City, then Franky Bradley’s. After FB’s it was moved Voltage Lounge, where we introduced projecting music videos to our sets, including other custom DJSC visuals. We love our home at the infamous Kung Fu Necktie, where we have grown our DJSC family and friends every month and year. We can’t wait to see you all again and meet new friends.
