In 2022, a loose pact was made: start something new, don’t overthink it, andwrite catchy songs that feel relatable and genuine.Based in the mountain town of Squamish, British Columbia, Surf Hat have been crafting theirown version of cold-water surf rock—beach music written somewhere between the ocean andthe mountains. Their sound floats somewhere between breezy shimmer of Allah-Las, the looseswagger of The Growlers, and the off-kilter quirkiness of Talking Heads.The band has quickly built momentum the old-fashioned way: writing constantly and taking theirmusic on the road. Surf Hat have released three full-length albums,includingModern WorldBluesreleased in November 2025, a record that expands their sound without losing the loose,unhurried spirit the band started with.Following their most recent release, Surf Hat have spent the year circling the globe on sold outheadline tours across Canada, the United States, and Australia, convincingly turning casuallisters into lifelong fans. Next, they’ll head back out across Canada supporting The Sheepdogson some of the country’s biggest stages—not bad for a band named aftera hat. Brothers Saint Philadelphia-based Brothers Saint blend indie pop-rock hooks with heavy guitars, emo energy, and nostalgic alternative rock influences. Following their debut EP, Community Garden, in late 2025, Brothers Saint released their second EP, Had Youth, in early 2026, alongside singles including “Better Now” and “Losing My Keys.” The band will release Magnolia in October 2026—their third EP in less than a year—recorded at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA. Built around catchy melodies, emotional songwriting, and a live sound that hits harder than the recordings suggest, Brothers Saint pulls from indie rock, pop-rock, emo, and ’90s/2000s alternative without settling neatly into any one lane.
