The Knee-HI’s ~ The Girls ~ The Out-Sect ~ Harsh Symmetry

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM The Knee-HI’sChicago based all-girl rock band, The Knee Hi’s, are romancing the world as a living love letter to rock n roll. Combining their individual tastes and raw DIY approach this group is serving up style & charm of all their own; described as “cosmic nostalgia for the soul”, “junkshop glam”, & “electric & eclectic”. Stream their debut album “Charmed” now and look out for “Razzle Dazzle”, their second album, coming summer of 2023. THE GIRLS The Girls are a 5 piece band from Wilmington North Carolina, with their song “Schools for Fools” recently featured in the NETFLIX movie “Along For The Ride”. THE GIRLS have a stage presence of mixed emotions that range from angry and intimidating Rock N’ Roll to a happy power pop glam energy, easily getting the crowd moving and participating in these fun and catchy yet attitude ridden songs to sing along to and dance from start to finish. Jp “Peaches” Verardi lead guitar and vocals is sure to get the crowd rowdy and ready to the night with his on stage antics, blood spitting, confetti cannon shooting happy chaotic energy. The Out-SectThe members of The Out-Sect met while living in a Philadelphia junkyard. On weekends, they would gather to drink beers inside a broken down 1982 GMC Caballero with a copy of Back From The Grave stuck in the car’s cassette player. Instantly being drawn to the trashy sounds of those pimple-faced mid-60s punks, they figured they could write a song half as good as any of them. And that’s just what they did! Using instruments they literally found in the trash, the band has managed to write a handful of deranged “songs” that will leave you asking yourself “What is that smell?” and “Dear god, can they just stop playing!?”Harsh SymmetryHarsh Symmetry is the synthesizer driven solo project of the California based musician Julian Sharwarko. Blending 1980s post-punk and new wave influences with more contemporary genres like dark wave and minimal wave, Harsh Symmetry paints a refreshing and danceable picture while maintaining a good sense of revivalism.

Though the band has had a rotating membership since it’s 2010 start, the core of the group is singer-songwriter Sam Perduta and bassist/ keyboardist Greg Perault. They’ve released several albums and singles over their 10-year existence. Their latest release, “Good Deeds”, was recorded over several months in 2019 in North Philadelphia at Uniform Recording, and was engineered, produced, and mixed by Jeff Zeigler (War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, Laraaji, Mary Lattimore, Gargia Peoples), with Perduta and Perault playing almost all of the instruments (except drums, which was played by Chad Brown of West Philly Orchestra, and singing saw and clarinet by Jordan Burgis). Pieced together over several sessions, the album is the heaviest and rawest Elison Jackson release yet, while still maintaining the masterful lyrics and evocative atmosphere of previous Elison Jackson material.https://open.spotify.com/artist/0VnnMUaotXS4hvpigaM0K5?si=VGezZUjmT0KuA2rOT8DvqAhttps://elisonjackson.bandcamp.com/https://www.instagram.com/elisonjackson/

An electrifying fusion of impassioned vocals and vivacious guitar playing, Jelly delivers his Blues-centric Rock and Roll by way of his dynamic stage presence and evident classical training. The inspirational spark was first ignited at a young age after seeing the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. Since that moment, Jelly picked up the nylon string classical guitar and studied and trained only classical music until the age of 14, when he was introduced to the electrifying musical prowess of Led Zeppelin. The segway between Jimmy Page’s classical approach to songwriting and guitar playing is what led to Jelly’s passion for going full electric Rock and Roll. Attending hometown hero Warren Haynes’ Annual Christmas Jams in Asheville, with his Dad, he became even more influenced to meticulously craft his musical destiny.

Why Bonnie ~ Foyer Red ~ Kolezanka

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM Why Bonnie90 in November, the first full-length LP from Texas quintet Why Bonnie, crashes into existence with a squeal of feedback and a burst of distorted guitar. It’s a dynamic introduction to a more raw-edged indie sound from a band who have matured from bedroom dream pop into a sophisticated rock act, their evolving sound a reflection of the journey undertaken by songwriter Blair Howerton on this vividly rendered collection of songs. As much a product of songwriter Howerton’s love for the intimate songwriting of fellow Texans Townes Van Zandt and Blaze Foley as it is her affection for the alt-rock of the Lemonheads and the Replacements, the eccentric pop of Sparklehorse, and “definitely Sheryl Crow,” 90 in November is a meditation on the pains and pleasures of nostalgia and a lesson in learning how to look back at the people, places, and experiences that have shaped us, with room for both unvarnished honesty and rose-tinted melancholy. https://whybonnie.bandcamp.com/Foyer Red Foyer Red’s EP Zigzag Wombat is somehow both twee and aggressive at the same time; their playfully chaotic arrangements bridge art-punk, math rock, and sweetly sung indie with a dash of the zoomies. Imbuing their lyrics with fantastical imagery derived from quotidian experiences (“I saw this graffiti tag one day, “zig zag wombat angel” says Elana Riordan on the inspiration behind “Plutterbee” and title of their EP), the songwriting trio of Elana Riordan, Marco Ocampo, and Mitch Myers have crafted a compelling, complex and clever introduction to their varied sound. Citing Canadian underground math-rock legends Luge (Riordan), Atlanta’s incredible post-punk Omni (Ocampo), and Björk (Myers) as musical inspirations there’s something confounding and utterly brilliant about Foyer Red’s debut EP Zigzag Wombat.https://foyerred.bandcamp.com/track/etc-2 Kolezanka After years recording under various monikers, from her youth back in Phoenix to her recent years in New York, Moore released a few early projects as koleżanka before making her official debut with 2021’s “Place Is”. Created with long-time koleżanka collaborator Ark Calkins, “Place Is” is an exegesis into the very notion of “place” and all of the ways place can be interacted with and identified. After her debut release, she joined ascendant art-punk group Foyer Red. Moore characterizes it as an era of discovery, from “getting a foothold” with Place Is to crediting the adventurousness of Foyer Red with opening up her own writing for koleżanka. During the long, dire winter months of late 2020 and early 2021, Moore found herself holed up in her Brooklyn apartment. This chapter became the genesis for koleżanka’s sophomore album, “Alone With The Sound The Mind Makes”. Fittingly for an album concerned with the internal workings of our thoughts and emotions, Moore let herself wander when writing “Alone With The Sound The Mind Makes”, following stream of consciousness wherever it led. Moore had to learn to navigate it solo, to “make friends” with various unsettled states, and in the process, she wrote an album that dives deep into a person’s reckoning with themself, their body, their experiences, their perceptions. https://linktr.ee/kolezanka
