The Slaps ~ Breakfast Surreal

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PMTHE SLAPSAt its core, Tomato Tree by The Slaps is an exercise in patience that seamlessly showcases the virtues of experimentation. Composed of guitarist/vocalist Rand Kelly, bassist/vocalist Ramsey Bell, and percussionist/vocalist Josh Resing, the band’s latest collection of songs is an achievement – a document of deepening friendship and their collective and personal advancements in artistic maturity. Though the band formed out of a chance meeting at a party in 2016 during their first year of college at DePaul University, The Slaps are bound together by a spirit of pastoral music making – the notion that collaboratively using the available resources can produce stunning results. The record was pieced together meticulously from June 2020 to April 2021 at Pallet Sound in Chicago with assistance from engineer Michael MacDonald. From their inception, many of the songs on Tomato Tree took between two and four years to produce, undergoing significant changes while being rehearsed and performed in clubs around Chicago where the band developed their following. Their emphasis on performance – on the unmediated expression of music from artist to audience in a live setting – has been, and always will be, a central component of The Slaps’ ethos. Although The Slaps have a discography that predates Tomato Tree, the band insists that their latest offering is their first proper full-length album. “This is the most time we’ve spent on produced music,” says Kelly of the completed product that is the record. “This is what we wanted,” adds Resing. “I feel like we did exactly what we set out to do.”https://open.spotify.com/artist/4nNxZ9weXMeokvs9ohcmZlBreakfast Surrealhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/0t8uqSQ5yPg87tAGJ4xmv4?si=rZkO-DUqREudY1fESiuBAw

The Goddamn Gallows ~ Sasquatch & The Sick-A-Billys

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM THE GODDAMN GALLOWS In 2004 The Goddamn Gallows began their rough and tumble voyage and haven’t looked in the review mirror since. Leaving six studio albums in their path, they have been reinventing their music with every record. Spit from the heart of America’s Rust Belt, arising from a night of flophouse violence. Drifting across the states, they cemented their sound in Portland, OR and later in Los Angeles, CA, where they lived in abandoned buildings, squatter camps, storage units and shoebox apartments. In 2007, they left everything behind and spent the next four years living out of whatever vehicle would get them to the next town. Building upon their original sound of twanged-out, punk rock “gutterbilly” (Life of Sin 2004 and Gutterbillyblues 2007), they began picking up stray musicians along the way and adding to their sound; washboard, accordion, mandolin and banjo (Ghost of th’ Rails 2009 and 7 Devils 2011) creating a sound referred to as “hobocore”, “gypsy-punk” or “americana-punk”, while never being stuck in any one sound. Enter 2018 and The Goddamn Gallows have reinvented themselves once again with The Trial. From rockabilly, psychobilly and punk rock, to bluegrass and metal, The Trial infuses disparate sounds into a new strange recipe of seamless genre bending profundities. Chock full of impromptu antics of the shocking variety and hauntingly eclectic instrumentation, The Goddamn Gallows have made legions of fans with their legendary, live shows. The Goddamn Gallows, takes their progression of mixing punk rock, bluegrass, psychobilly, and metal to a whole new level! The Goddamn Gallows have now partnered with Sailor’s Grave Records to help deliver the next chapter of their legacy to the world. The Trial begins now.SASQUATCH & THE SICK-A-BILLYShttps://livingroomutb.bandcamp.com/track/high-and-lonesome

Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 8:00 PMJONAH KAGEN23-year-old singer and songwriter, Jonah Kagen, grew up in Savannah, Georgia and took up guitar at the age of six, diving deep into the instrument’s technical aspects after his musician grandfather showed him performance videos. He further found inspiration in the music of guitarist Andy McKee, whose finger-style technique lit a creative fire within. “He opened my eyes to what an acoustic guitar could be,” he recalls, as he dove deeper into creating music on his own. “If you can bring somebody something with your music that they can’t get anywhere else, there’s nothing better than that.”Jonah’s debut EP, ‘georgia got colder,’ was released in December 2022 on Arista Records. He’s already cut impressive figures with over 200+ million global streams, a US tour supporting Maisie Peters, nearly 2 million Spotify monthly listeners, and was included on Shazam’s 2023 predictions list. An exciting new voice bringing an undeniable energy and sincerity through his multifaceted sound, Jonah Kagen is undoubtedly an artist on the rise.https://www.jonahkagen.com/DYLAN ROCKOFFhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/2L2hppNg0A5WfGJTChIJL5?si=EDN9E0MKSCOyXI1xHgfnxQ

Shaper ~ Flagman ~ Gewgaws

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM SHAPERSHAPER is a noise rock band comprised of members of long-running Philly heavy psych band Meddlesome Bells. Inspired by sharp blades, loud machinery, and doo-wop, 2023 is their first full year in business. https://instagram.com/shaper_sound?igshid=NGExMmI2YTkyZg==FLAGMANFlagman was founded back in 2015 by Sam Stewart and Cody Singleton, two long-time friends from the Orlando music scene, with a goal to create the crispiest, most deep-fried alternative metal the world had ever seen. That is, once they found a drummer. After a year-long search, Grant Freeman joined the duo, turning them into a trio… and the rest was history. From racking up hundreds of thousands of total streams and almost two million views across their social media platforms, to playing alongside national touring acts like Hed PE and Battles at major Florida festivals like Sanford’s Hurricane Fest and Gainesville’s FEST, Flagman are quickly rising up the ranks of the Southern US’ metal elite. Despite channeling the eclecticism of the 90s rock scene with influences including Primus, System of a Down, and Mr. Bungle, Flagman’s sound is completely unique. Through the almost unnaturally logical combination of vocalist Sam’s distinctive bass playing, drummer Grant’s driving rhythms, and sizzling leads from guitarist Cody, the band has managed to create a combination so hot that it would have melted Icarus’ wings in a fraction of the time. Like the petri dish experiment that ended up introducing the world to LSD, or the gelatinous primordial Floridian soup from which they emerged, Flagman could go all sorts of crazy directions in the long term. However, what’s more certain is what they’re planning after 3 successful single releases this year alone – releasing a full-length album, mixed by Ben McLeod of All Them Witches fame. At the same time, they’ll also be preparing to light up venues all across Florida and the south/southeastern US throughout 2023 with their slippery bass lines, searing-hot guitar riffs, and drum riffs that’ll have your ear holes begging for mercy as they’re pummelled into submission.https://linktr.ee/flagmanbandGEWGAWSThe pressures of people slabbed up against one another…cut that open, breathe deep into it: bright red rhythms that feel like a birthright shuffle just out of reach. Gewgaws shake on the mantle, signify what we can’t speak to. For a moment, catch the collage, the stories between; the catalogues give this absurd dance meaning.https://www.instagram.com/gewgaws.us/
