The Trews ~ Sunday Mourners

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 6:30 PM Show: 7:30 PMThe TrewsThe achievements of rock ‘n’ roll heavyweights The Trews are many and mighty, highlighted by multiple radio hits drawn from seven critically acclaimed studio albums plus several EPs, a pair of live records, and a retrospective. Among the most prolific, electrifying, and innovative bands on the planet, The Trews — singer/guitarist Colin MacDonald, guitarist John-Angus MacDonald, bassist Jack Syperek, drummer Chris Gormley, and keyboardist Jeff Heisholt — have shared stages with everyone from the Rolling Stones to Weezer, Bruce Springsteen to Rich Robinson, the latter collaboration culminating in three blazing tracks on the band’s latest, The Wanderer, cut in Nashville with the onetime Black Crowes guitarist. Amid the global pandemic, which halted both the Nashville sessions and tour plans for 2018’s epic Civilianaires album, The Trews completed The Wanderer at home in Canada with producers Derek Hoffman and Eric Ratz, emerging with their fiercest and most accomplished set of songs to date, and a heck of backstory to boot.http://www.thetrewsmusic.com/ Sunday Mournershttps://www.instagram.com/sundaymourners/?hl=en
The Donuts ~ KeN

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 6:30 PM Show: 7:45 PM The Donuts present Seconds of PleasureThe Donuts, Philadelphia’s premier pub rock outfit, formed in 2001 after meeting at an AC/DC show. They have since released six critically acclaimed albums and shared stages with Richard Lloyd (ex Television), the Plimsouls, and the Flaming Groovies among others. In 2018, they performed Rockpile’s legendary Seconds of Pleasure lp in its entirety at a sold out show at Kung Fu. Since then they have composed answer songs to the Rockpile originals, calling the project The Pleasure of Seconds. They look forward to pairing these answers with the originals in a one-off pub rock celebration at Kung Fu.https://www.facebook.com/thedonutsphillyKeNSinners: come worship at the altar of KeN! The gods of rock are female! Influenced by waning moons, booze, the concept that music is math, and the urban shadows, KeN channels Philadelphia’s grit and spit to shape their songs in the cauldron of rock. Formed in the early 1990s, KeN’s history has included shows with such greats as the Psychedelic Furs, Mike Watt, Alice Donut, The Makers, Scrawl, Burning Brides and Ben Folds Five. KeN has been described as “sweetly bitter punk love anthems” (Jill McDowell, Philadelphia Weekly); “estro-gin power collective” (Joey Sweeney, Philadelphia Weekly); “straight-up-shoot-from-the-hip-rock-outfit” (Julie Gerstein, Philadelphia Weekly); “a strange world where everything sounds fine and its OK to fly off the handle” (Eric Wareheim, Rockpile); and “Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! With a capital A, A, A!!” (Alex Baker, artist, skate punk and Philly man-about-town). KeN released their first full-length, Parade of Sinners, in July 2005. In November 2006, KeN’s Parade of Sinners won “Best Punk Album of the Year” at the Just Plain Folks Music Awards. KeN’s second album, Silky Smooth Destruction, was released in 2009. https://ilikeken.bandcamp.com/
The Knee-HI’s ~ The Girls ~ The Out-Sect ~ Harsh Symmetry

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PM The Knee-HI’sChicago based all-girl rock band, The Knee Hi’s, are romancing the world as a living love letter to rock n roll. Combining their individual tastes and raw DIY approach this group is serving up style & charm of all their own; described as “cosmic nostalgia for the soul”, “junkshop glam”, & “electric & eclectic”. Stream their debut album “Charmed” now and look out for “Razzle Dazzle”, their second album, coming summer of 2023. THE GIRLS The Girls are a 5 piece band from Wilmington North Carolina, with their song “Schools for Fools” recently featured in the NETFLIX movie “Along For The Ride”. THE GIRLS have a stage presence of mixed emotions that range from angry and intimidating Rock N’ Roll to a happy power pop glam energy, easily getting the crowd moving and participating in these fun and catchy yet attitude ridden songs to sing along to and dance from start to finish. Jp “Peaches” Verardi lead guitar and vocals is sure to get the crowd rowdy and ready to the night with his on stage antics, blood spitting, confetti cannon shooting happy chaotic energy. The Out-SectThe members of The Out-Sect met while living in a Philadelphia junkyard. On weekends, they would gather to drink beers inside a broken down 1982 GMC Caballero with a copy of Back From The Grave stuck in the car’s cassette player. Instantly being drawn to the trashy sounds of those pimple-faced mid-60s punks, they figured they could write a song half as good as any of them. And that’s just what they did! Using instruments they literally found in the trash, the band has managed to write a handful of deranged “songs” that will leave you asking yourself “What is that smell?” and “Dear god, can they just stop playing!?”Harsh SymmetryHarsh Symmetry is the synthesizer driven solo project of the California based musician Julian Sharwarko. Blending 1980s post-punk and new wave influences with more contemporary genres like dark wave and minimal wave, Harsh Symmetry paints a refreshing and danceable picture while maintaining a good sense of revivalism.

Sacred Monsters ~ BEES! ~ Unlucky Mammals ~ Jima

**All shows 21+—valid ID required** Doors: 8:00 PM Show: 8:30 PM Sacred MonstersThe members of Sacred Monsters are anything but scary. However, their first EP was created during a frightening time in history: 2020. In the midst of a global pandemic, “Bones” was written and produced by everyone sharing files through Google Drive. That’s right! Without ever meeting in person they created 5 songs of upbeat Sad Girl Rock. Today, Sacred Monsters call Philadelphia, PA (and adjacent suburbs) home. They still share song ideas via Google Drive, but with the added luxury of working them out in person at band practice.https://open.spotify.com/artist/04gwCu3yKQZaSt9bq1qpvr?si=QQ-Uc7zzR9C4x6tFpRyhjw&nd=1 BEES! BEES! is a goofy riffy rock band from Philadelphia featuring Mike Huff on guitar and vocals, Adam Sivilich on bass and Ralph Lepera on drums. It’s not like they’re the bees; it’s more like you’re in a horror movie being chased by giant, radioactive bees screaming, “BEES!” Inspired by The Presidents of the United States of America, Queens of the Stone Age, and the music from Super Mario World, a BEES! show feels like you’re back in a 90s arcade. Since coming out of hibernation, BEES! has played at Camp Punksylvania and Elephant Talk Indie Music Fest, released a new EP called “Bees in Space,” and created a video game featuring pixel art bees designed by fans. Head to beesphilly.com to check out the music and play the game!https://linktr.ee/beesphilly Unlucky Mammals Unlucky Mammals is a Philly-based jangle punk trio. The band’s sound combines the loud, fuzzy hooks of ‘90s alternative rock with the ringing, chiming melodies of jangle pop. (Think early R.E.M. covering Dinosaur Jr.). It’s debut album “Fiddling in the Undertow” is being released a single at a time into summer 2023.https://linktr.ee/unluckymammals Jima Hello, we’re Jima, an alternative grunge rock band based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. It’s already past midnight, but the crowd stands their ground diligently in anticipation. Outside it’s frigid, but inside everyone is shedding layers and stashing coats in corners. They are inside the home of Cab Ellis, an electrifying Alternative Rock band consisting of 8 members including three guitars, a section of horns, and a lead vocalist who will, in just a few minutes, capture the crowd with his intensely and feverishly passionate performance. All at once, Cab Ellis will rumble down the stairs, take the living room stage, and perform an hour of frantic rock music to a mosh pit of the sweaty and ecstatic fans they have built in New York. As hundreds of sneakers and boots pound the linoleum floor to the beat, Cab Ellis performs songs from their recently released sophomore record, The East Coast Hold On, recorded in 2021 with Strokes producer Gordon Raphael. They also play a selection of favorites from their debut album, Nighttime OCD, which was recorded and released in Los Angeles in 2020.
