Veda Rays ~ Frend ~ Mandy Valentine

VEDA RAYSVeda Rays are an alternative rock band which began as a modern extension of traditional dream pop, indie & post punk. The group has since developed a unique voice through several years of steadfast experimentation, making records, and filing through the ranks of the Brooklyn DIY scene. Analog synths, treated samples, and other varied electronic elements add an atmospheric richness. The orchestral flourishes and texturally nuanced sonics oft times broaden the scope unto cinematic heights or tighten the focus down to minimal depths. The lyrics and imagery often explore liminal spaces of abstraction and surreality, channeling subconscious impulses reacting to the present moment.https://vedarays.bandcamp.com/FRENDPost-hardcore heartbreak.  Melodically screaming about hard feelings over angular hooks and heavy grunge.  It’s very cathartic for everyone involved. https://frendtheband.bandcamp.com/ MANDY VALENTINEhttps://mandyvalentine.bandcamp.com/music

*All events are 21+ with valid ID required for entry*Doors: 7 PMShow: 7:30 PMSTARBENDERSAtlanta alt-glam band Starbenders will release their hotly anticipated sophomore album, Love Potions, on February 14 through Sumerian Records, fresh on the heels of 2019’s Japanese Rooms EP and serving as the follow-up to 2016’s Heavy Petting debut album. These are words similar to those which you will read on countless press releases, but there really isn’t anyone else out there doing what Starbenders have been doing since forming in 2014: The intoxicating combination of ‘70s glitter and ‘80s glam with new wave and new romantic, seduced into this new decade by four thrilling musicians and, in frontwoman Kimi Shelter, one of the most exciting songwriters in contemporary rock & roll.“It’s really interesting to see it bloom into what it is now,” says Shelter. “I guess us leveling up as far as musicians go, and having to be capable of pivoting — be decisive and be resourceful in the midst of creating as well — has really shaped us. The sound has captured this sort of restless, relentless side of my spirit.”https://www.starbenders.com/MAGIC COBRABorn in the sign of the centipede, Magic Cobra (Marc-André Basile, Dave Watts, Dave Johnson, and Noel Babineau) are a shattered stained-glass dream conceived in the corner of a dark Philadelphia basement in 2018. Their first self-titled EP was released mid-pandemic mayhem and ran the gamut in terms of its psychedelic influence – since then they’ve dialed into a heavier sound, with new songs built on a foundation of devastating fuzz and throbbing textures.https://magiccobra.bandcamp.com/album/magic-cobra-ep

Good Kid ~ Phoneboy at Kung Fu Necktie

GOOD KID (TORONTO)Good Kid is a pack of rambunctious indie rockers, who blend J-Rock, Indie Rock, and Pop Punk influences into a non-stop barrage of energy and fun! The Toronto band, who just released their second EP has won over the hearts of fans with music and a heavy emphasis on visual art, Internet culture, and “fan lore”! Recently the band has seen an explosion of love from the gaming community. They’ve been included in the most recent official Fortnite Radio update and did a collaboration with FaZe clan to announce the signing of a new player! https://goodkid.bandcamp.com/track/orbitPHONEBOYIn an age of hyper-stimulated doom-scrolling and over-polished social media stars, humble Hoboken three piece Phoneboy are all about living in the moment. Singer/guitarists Wyn Barnum and Ricky Dana met at a tiny technical college lacking much of an indie scene. Pulling in Wyn’s childhood friend, bassist James Fusco, the three college boys bonded over a love of midwest emo. But while you may find a tinge of that teen angst that comes with youth, Phoneboy are ready to turn up.https://phoneboy.band/

The Schizophonics ~ Lisa Christ Superstar ~ The Falling Out

THE SCHIZOPHONICSOver the last few years, The Schizophonics have built up a formidable reputation around the world as an explosive live act. Tapping into the same unstoppable combination of rock ‘n’ roll energy and showmanship that fueled THE MC5 in the heyday of the Grande Ballroom, their wild live show is heavily influenced by artists like JAMES BROWN, IGGY POP, JIMI HENDRIX, LITTLE RICHARD, and THE SONICS. Singer/guitarist Pat Beers and drummer Lety Beers formed the band in San Diego in 2009 and have worked tirelessly since then, playing hundreds of shows around the globe and winning 7 San Diego music awards. In 2013 they were recruited as the backing/opening band for EL VEZ, which helped the band make a name for itself in Europe. Since then, they’ve played in fourteen countries, and supported tours by like-minded acts like ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT, LITTLE BARRIE, and THE WOGGLES and have opened for the DAMNED, HIVES and CAGE THE ELEPHANT. Shindig magazine described their live show “Like watching some insane hybrid of WAYNE KRAMER, JAMES BROWN, and the Tazmanian Devil”. “One of my favorite live bands ever!” proclaims Tim Mays, who has run the Casbah in San Diego for 30 years and has seen literally thousands of live bands come through his doors. “The Schizophonics bring the goods every time they play,” he enthuses.  The band is more than just an outstanding live act, they’re also committed to writing great, memorable songs.  After releasing 2 singles and an EP over the last few years on Munster, Ugly Things, and Pig Baby Records, they put out their first full-length album in July 2017 titled Land Of The Living on the label Sympathy For The Record Industry with famed record man Long Gone John. In January of 2019 they started work on their 2nd LP recruiting Dave Gardner (Hot Snakes, RFTC) mixing engineer Stephen Kaye ( JD McPherson, Mike Krol) and Pierre De Reeder (Rilo Kiley) to put their live, raw sound to tape. The album titled People in the Sky will be released on October 31st, 2019 on Pig Baby Records. LISA CHRIST SUPERSTARPhiladelphia based husband and wife duo are the architects behind the guitar-driven triad, LISACHRISTSUPERSTAR. *CANCELED* Jeremy & the Harlequins at Kung Fu Necktie

JEREMY & THE HARLEQUINS Magic materializes in many forms, but its clearest manifestation in our world would be music. It exists unseen in the ether, yet certainly leaves a physical, emotional, and spiritual imprint. Jeremy & The Harlequins deal in this sort of magic. Finding the crossroads between sun-soaked sixties California harmonies and New York garage rock gutter fuzz, the quintet kickstart a new phase of American rock ‘n’ roll. Following 2013’s American Dreamer, they quietly emerged as a critical and fan favorite with Into The Night [2016] and Remember This [2018]. Along the way, they earned the endorsement of USA Today, Paste, Interview, Wall Street Journal, Nylon, Consequence of Sound, Atwood Magazine, Relix, and Huffington Post who christened them “true originals.” Meanwhile, they can be heard loud and clear throughout popular culture with syncs in Edge of Tomorrow: Live. Die. Repeat., Seal Team, Shameless, Vampire Diaries, Royal Pain, Heavy, Life Partners, and a Miller High Life national campaign. On SiriusXM, Little Steven’s Underground Garage selected “Starlight” as its “Coolest Song In The World” and “Trip Into The Light” as the “Coolest Song of the Year.” Everything just set the stage for their fourth full-length and 2022 Pasadena Records debut, ABRA CaDaBRA.  To conjure up this magic, they tracked the music at Van Zandt’s Renegade Studios with producer Geoff Sanoff [Bruce Springsteen, Little Steven, Jesse Malin]. For vocals, they reteamed with Rick Parker [Lord Huron, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Scott Weiland] in Hollywood’s Sandbox Studios. They also welcomed an all-star cast of supporting players such as Hamilton lead violinist Jonny Dinklage, Ben Jaffe [tenor sax], and Steve Garcia [trumpet]. The boys introduce this chapter with the spellbinding single “Let Me Out Of You.”
