AMÉLIE SWANN

GENCAB

Moonrocket Recording Artist Amélie Swann is a lockdown starlet.
Finding solace in her bedroom studio, she crafted the foundation of her
debut EP, her first release since breaking away from her last collaboration
as singer for the popular Philly band DRAMA!

Swann teamed up with buzz producer Ty Key, re-recorded most of her
bedroom vocals, and worked with Ty Key to bring the debut EP Dirty
Looks to life. Released in April of 2021, Amélie immediately enjoyed
recognition from the international Trip Hop community. A dark pop artist
at heart, she draws similarities to Trip Hop mainstays like Portishead and
Moloko, while also embracing a more modern indie pop sensibility.

The debut single Must Be spread like a wildfire in the Trip Hop world.
Added to over 100 unique playlists on Spotify, it earned Amélie the cover
shot for the popular Women of Trip Hop Playlist, and grew her IG to over
8k followers in one short year. Often shared on Trip Hop themed Reddit
and in Facebook groups by unique users, Amélie is becoming a household name on the international scene, and is being pursued by several popular producers for potential collaborations.

At the end of 2022, she released her new single “Enough”, also produced by Ty Key. She followed the single release with an alluring music video directed by Lolife that gained popularity in the trip hop community. “Enough” was picked up by the label “H1 Massive” and re- released on their Trip-Hop Album “Down-Tempo Vol. 1”.

The minimalist dark pop vibe continues to push her growth forward.
Amélie has already released two singles this year and her hit “Your New
Ex Girlfriend” is growing a strong fan base across Spotify listeners.

Amélie is a well known talent in Philly, having played at many venues
across the city. She recently played “Pete’s Candy Store” in Brooklyn and
is looking forward to expanding her live shows into a tour.
Ethereal and cinematic soundscapes.
Since reforming GENCAB in 2020, David Dutton has hit the ground running. "II transMuter" was released in 2008 and considered ahead of it's time structurally, blending elements from EBM and synthpop into song arrangements suited for aggressive rock .

After a long lay off they returned in 2022 with the full length LP "Thoughts Beyond Words", as well as the genre bending EP "Everything You See Is Mine". That year they also toured with Aesthetic Perfection (with which whom both David and drummer Tim Van Horn played live with for years) across the US.

GENCAB signed with Metropolis Records in 2023 and released the LP "Signature Flaws". The album was a meditation on one’s own demise, and introduced elements of shoegaze and post hardcore to the already densely amalgamated songs, and thus became something new unto itself.

In 2024, GENCAB released "THIRD EYE GEMINI" (III I II), half a modern day update to the best material on their first release, as well as new tracks inspired from re-recording those past sessions. The update to their sound was already apparent via the rework they had released for "Perish The Thought", and now everything else is also turned up to 11. In full control of the production, this album remains faithful to the feel of the original, although completely restructured from the ground up, and sung with more confidence and conviction from Dutton. The album remains raw and as fresh as it was when this material was first privately shared to the world more than 16 years ago.
