Supersuckers & The Lords of Altamont ~ Ravagers

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PMSupersuckershttps://supersuckers.bandcamp.com/album/99-1-2The Lords of AltamontThe Lords of Altamont bring forth raw rock and roll fury birthed from the ultimate end to the era of peace and love. What was billed to be the “Woodstock of the West “, the infamous Altamont Free concert on December 6th, 1969 was highlighted instead by heavy drugs , motorcycle chains and brass knuckles and later punctuated with shoving matches and fist fights. This palpable sense of bawdy foreboding resulted in four births, four deaths and extensive property damage. While the hippies had been grooving and mellowing out in the Bay Area, the forefathers of the Lords of Altamont were playing high energy rhythms in the beer soaked venues of Detroit and the dingy clubs along LA’s Sunset Strip. Mid-60s London RnB shares equal space with the scruffy 70s NYC Bowery among the influences of The Lords also. They take their other cues from kids banging out primitive riffs on cheap guitars all across the USA in garages alongside chopped bikes and American v-8 muscle, lingering exhaust fumes mixing with sweat to conjure the rare elixir of real rock n roll. The story of the band who would come to be known as The Lords of Altamont gets a proper start in late 1999. A son of Southern California and a veteran of the SoCal music scene, Jake Cavaliere – with numerous bands and projects from garage to punk dating back to the late 80s under his belt – enlisted fellow motorcycle rider and bandmate of the instro/surf sensation The Bomboras, Johnny DeVilla. Besides holding their first show at the legendary venue The Garage in Hollywood, high points include touring as the support act for their primitive rock n roll idols The Cramps, infamous rock gods The Who as well as counting the late Michael Davis of the MC5 as a past member. Through personnel changes featuring an incredible roster of talent, and various adventures over the past 23+ years, The Lords of Altamont continue to evolve their sound while staying true to their roots. Jake Cavaliere , along with his assemblage of gritty and talented personalities, continues to captivate audiences with unparalleled hard driven performances the world over.Ravagershttps://ravagers.bandcamp.com/

The Psycodelics ~ Little Bird

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PMThe PsycodelicsAwarded City Paper’s 2021 Soul/R&B Act of the Year, The Psycodelics’ flavor of Black American music has blended foundations of blues, jazz and disco with fresh funk rock. With a stage presence as multifaceted and emotive as its lineup, the already-potent sound retains even greater magic to make you get up and dance.https://psycodelics.com/Little BirdLittle Bird is composed of musicians Jay Hurtt (vocals), Noah Jones (piano), Oleg Terentiev (drums), Ben Mossman (bass), and Jim Rubush (guitar). Their genre-bending, signature sound is inspired by their favorite modern and vintage artists Hiatus Kaiyote, Nick Hakim, D’Angelo and Stevie Wonder. Seamlessly blending jazz, blues, indie rock, and neo-soul psychedelia is apparent in their 23 track odyssey “PROXIMA”. Their latest single “SP ACE” is the second release from their next project “SWEET HAPPY LIFE” which will serve as the group’s musical and lyrical interpretation of the time and space we share. “It’s extremely likely you’ll fall headfirst for Little Bird, mere moments after hearing the band’s 2018 release Familiar. The heady mix of ambient soul, R&B, and trippy jazz puts them in the kindred spirit category to everyone from D’Angelo and Erykah Badu to Australian jam band Hiatus Kaiyote. And their unique sound is showcased by musicianship of the highest order.”

McKinley Dixon

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 8:00 PMMcKinley DixonMcKinley Dixon spent much of his childhood on the move. Born in Annapolis, Maryland in 1995, he shuttled back and forth between the DMV and Jamaica, Queens, and it was those singular New York experiences that really inspired him. He felt a kinship with the borough, a place that wasn’t quite home but felt more like it; the faces there looked like his in a way that just wasn’t true of Maryland. “It gave me kind of this sense of longing that really jump started my thinking about escapism through music,” he says. The idea of longing and escape is central to his music, especially his forthcoming project, the ambitious Beloved! Paradise! Jazz?!, named after the trilogy of novels from Nobel laureate Toni Morrison, the writer Dixon has described as “the greatest rapper ever.” Morrison’s novels looked into American history to locate eruptions of longing and escape with the beautiful sweep and precision of her prose. That’s the energy Dixon tries to channel on this album. “The work of McKinley Dixon has always felt generous to me, as a listener, or how it operates as a portal,” the poet and critic Hanif Abdurraqib observed. “A window into a life that is decidedly not your life, but could maybe not be far off from your life, depending on where you’re from, what you know, what you haven’t let go of. It could be close to a life you’ve touched, or a life you’ve missed or longed for.”Dixon was raised in a household led by his mother, who worked a double-shift job, and he found himself rising at 5:30 every morning too. “She really taught me a sense of discipline,” he recalls, “and how if you want something for yourself, you have to go get it.” Musically his household was defined by “artists whose first name was Mary,” including Mary J. Blige and gospel duo Mary Mary. Discovering Outkast was formative for Dixon, deepening his love for hip-hop while he also grew curious about the more theatrical rock of groups of the day, bands like My Chemical Romance and Panic! At The Disco that his Maryland friends introduced him to. “Those groups also helped me with my sense of longing, since their music reflected a sense of longing,” he says. Eventually he channeled these competing influences into a debut EP he released in 2013, while attending college in Richmond, Virginia. With time, his music became his primary means of self-expression, whether discussing Blackness or his own relationship with healing. Across his next releases—Who Taught You To Hate Yourself? (2016) and The Importance Of Self Belief (2018), his style evolved and his confidence grew, especially when it came to live instrumentation. His 2021 debut album For My Mama and Anyone Who Look Like Her was a game changer, as Dixon set his sights on heartache and grief. “I was making these really dense and chaotic songs, stuffing whatever thought I had into five and a half minutes,” Dixon says of that project. Beloved! Paradise! Jazz?! is an attempt at channeling different impulses.https://www.mckinleydixon.com/

Lauran Hibberd

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 8:00 PMLauran HibberdLife, as Ronan Keating famously once sang, is a rollercoaster – you’ve just got to ride it. Over the last 12 months, Lauran Hibberd has been strapped into a journey resembling hurtling along a loop-the-looping track, being thrown up to dizzying highs before plummeting to life-changing lows and back again. In August 2022, as her hook-filled triumph of a debut album ‘Garageband Superstar’ was soaring into the UK Top 40, she was grieving for her father, who’d died in the weeks ahead of the release. “A lot of stuff happened to me around that time – I lost my dad, I went through my first big break-up, I was living on my own for the first time,” she reflects now. It would have made sense if this intense period of grief, change and adaptation had left the 26-year-old needing to hit pause and focus on something other than music for a moment. Writing, though, became a way for her to deal with and continue processing the things she was going through. As she re-entered sessions in the studio, her second album ‘Girlfriend Material’ “just fell out” of her. “It felt like it needed to happen. I felt so much freer and a bit more capable of writing about certain topics than I did before,” she reasons. “It’s like, for the first album, someone sent me to Spain without me knowing any Spanish, and I’ve been like, ‘I’ll figure it out’. This time, I’ve had a year of learning Spanish, and I can ask for the time.” Now more confident and comfortable in the language of songwriting, the new album takes the foundations Hibberd started laying on ‘Garageband Superstar’ and builds them up several accomplished storeys. The tongue-in-cheek humour that won her praise from the likes of DIY, NME, Rolling Stone UK, Kerrang!, Radio 1 and more is still present, but it’s joined by new layers of nuance and candidness – think songs that can make you laugh, cry and feel less alone, all within under four minutes. Sonically, too, she’s entering new ground, bringing together forever influences like Avril Lavigne, Weezer and Green Day with the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Liz Phair and Taylor Swift.

Short Porch ~ Lahnah ~ Funsucker ~ Big Slip

AGE RESTRICTION: Only Ages 21+ can purchase tickets for this show. NO REFUNDS/EXCHANGES for anyone underage who purchases or attempts to use these tickets. Doors: 7:00 PM Show: 7:30 PMShort PorchShort Porch is a rock and roll band from Brooklyn, NY.  The band is made up of Sean McNulty (guitar/vocals), Jon Hunt (bass/vocals), Joe Mudge (guitar/vocals), Mary Kate Mulhauser (keys/vocals), and Joe White (drums). Their debut album “The best of…Short Porch vol. 1” was recorded with Charles Dahlke of the Brazen Youth this past summer and released on February 1st, 2024; the same day as the bands first headlining show at Brooklyn Made.LahnahHailing from Philadelphia, Lahnah describes themselves as an “experimental butt rock” band. Their music, influenced by 70s jazz fusion, prog rock, and contemporary noise rock, as well as early aughts “butt rock” (of course), creates an angular, perpetually oscillating, and chaotic yet “tight” stream of sound. Since their inception in Brattleboro, VT, around 2018, the trio has crusaded across the north-atlantic with high energy live performances, sharing the stage with notable acts like Gustaf, Chris Brokaw of Come and Codeine, Guerilla Toss, Arc Iris, Thus Love, and many more.FunsuckerFunsucker is an alternative rock band started in 2021 by singer/songwriter Jo Casanova.  What started off as a solo project quickly evolved into a full on 90’s guitar rock outfit, with elements of shoegaze, noise, and early emo/hardcore.  Currently based in Brooklyn, the band’s lineup features Tucson, Arizona natives Damian Diaz (Trees Speak) on guitar, and Daniel Olitzky on drums, as well as Alexander Pope (Trees Speak/Dropper) on bass.  Though their inspiration may be drawn mainly from decades preceding them, Funsucker continues to experiment sonically without regard for any specific genre. Their upcoming record “ONLY FANTASY” is slated to be released in April this year.Big SlipBig Slip began as a collaboration between Caleb (Bonus, Negative World Status) & Ian (Bass Drum of Death, E-Meters) in Oxford, MS. Fusing a love of fuzzy, shoegaze guitars and blistering drums, their sound is simultaneously loud and comforting, dirgy and frenetic. Now located in Philadelphia with new-comers Ben & Jack on drums and bass respectively, Big Slip will resonate with lovers of 90s-indebted rock and punk. FFO: my bloody valentine, Ovlov, Swirlie.
